Usage:
Internally - 5 to 10 drops
into tablespoon of honey, maple syrup or 1/2 glass of warm water 3 times
daily.
Externally - rubbed directly on sore joints, hemorrhoids, skin disorders,
etc, or 10-15 drops diluted in a bit of warm water

Fabaceae. ”Copaiba”, “Copal”. On Rio Solimoes, resin used as a
cicatrizant, for gonorrhea, psoriasis, sores, catarrh, syphilis, and
urinary problems. Plotkin (1993) notes that the resin (copal) is used to
coat tubules exposed by the dentist drill. Copaiba Oil is used for skin
disorders such as;
boils, wounds, rashes, dermatitis, bug bites, psoriasis, eczema,
itch, athlete's foot, fungi, and as an
anti-inflammatory agent that can be rubbed directly on sore joints.
Internally, locals suggest its usage for gastric ulcers, as a diuretic and
expectorant. It has been known remedy for internal inflammations,
bacterial infections (including kidney, bladder, cystitis, and urinary
tract), tuberculosis, bronchitis, herpes, pleurisy, stomach ulcer,
stomach cancer, chronic diarrhea, and as a topical preparation for hemorrhoids.
The oil is also used in art restoration, restoring color to
old paintings.
It
contains essential oil and resin acids, the oil contains also turpentine.
